Modernity: A Teacher’s Guide

Earlier this year, Genealogies of Modernity released the Genealogies of Modernity podcast, a narrative series supported by a Media Production Grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities. Each episode takes up a well-worn story about what it means to be “modern,” and then challenges that narrative with recent humanities scholarship.

Responding to requests from educators, the Genealogies of Modernity team has compiled a syllabus and teaching aids based on content from our podcast. The resources, which are completely free, offer high school and college-level students a chance to engage with some of the most exciting work happening in the humanities today.

We hope you enjoy these resources—and please share with any secondary or tertiary educators interested in the humanities!
