Announcing the Genealogies of Modernity Podcast

For the past three years, our project director, Ryan McDermott, has been working with an amazing group of interdisciplinary scholars to produce a narrative podcast about Genealogies of Modernity. With Ministry of Ideas as a production partner, and a Media Production Grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities, this podcast takes the form of eight episodes that explore the central concerns of this journal: what does it mean when societies claim to be “modern?” What is at stake when we identify a rupture between ourselves and the past? Is the story of human history one of decline or renewal—or neither?

Click here to listen to Episodes 1-3 of the new podcast, and keep an eye on this space as we upload further episodes and response essays.

If you would like to write a 500-1000 word response piece to one the episodes, you can email us a pitch here.
